Thick, dark, rough, and curly. That’s the description of black hair. Natural hair. Movies like ‘The Color Purple’ and ‘Secret Life of Bees’ perfectly depict the issue of hair for African Americans. They show the hot combs, tender heads, and braids. They show precision and skill. They show black culture. The Pullman Porters were a very beneficial gorup of men in history. They formed the first black labor union, they built and supported a school, they held jobs that were considered the best jobs for black men, and inspired the movie “10,000 Men Names George”.
