People have their own reasons for choosing a stripping career. Those reasons could range from paying for college to being able to pay the rent because they are having a hard time finding a 9-5 job. Many people in society turn their noses down at the mere idea of stripping. But like the strippers they have their reason as well. However, take away the lights, the pole, the men, and at the end of the day not all the strippers are happy with their choices. Not all strippers are happy with the fact that they have to strip and disclose their bodies for money. After talking with a woman who strips to take care of her household, I am able to provide you with a deeper look into the things that happen off the stage.
By the time the doors close the person with the most money had the best night. It doesn’t matter if it was done by stripping all night on the stage, giving lap dances all night, or a combination of both. It is every man (or woman) for himself. There are going to be other workers that are going to try sabataging you to get ahead. Others may “hate” on you because you are very pretty or have long hair and thats gets you ahead of them. As with any job it is very stressful and counter productive when your co workers work against you instead of with you.
Many strippers can’t face the harsh reality that they have to get on stage in front of hundreds of men that they don’t know and take their clothes off though they do need the money. Many will drink heavily or take drugs prior to their turn. Being intoxicated gives them the ability to perform the way that they need to without being shy or refrained. As you can imagine which ever their drugof choice, their choice is going to have lasting affects that will change their lives in many ways. Some face depression, some have to deal with drug addictions. Others may never see the light of the next day due to a guy who wanted more than just the allowed lap dance. The ones that are able to live to see another day will be forever traumatized from the ordeal.
So in all reality…We on the outside only see the flashing lights, loud music, missing husbands and boyfriends, the money. But these woman see more on their jobs everyday thn we do in our cozy offices. They end up with more psychological and emotional troubles than we do when at the end of the all they are trying to is make money like we do.
