BEAT THE CLOCK

Get ready for work, get the kids ready for school, breakfast, sitting in traffic, long hours at work, and the list goes on. Ever feel like there are just not enough hours in your day? Ever feel as though you are always trying to catch up? Ever wish you could get just one hour for yourself?

You are not alone. Between work, children, school, and life there just never seems to be one minute when you can just breath. Making some minor changes could help you get the most out of your day. It could help you Beat the clock. Pull out your notepad because these simple moves are going to make you wish you had come up with them yourself.

Have the favorite tv show that you like to watch? You know that one hour reality tv show that will replay 10 times before the season is over and then again in a marathon once the season has ended. To save yourself an hour try grocery shopping and watching the replay later. Or if you are one of those type of people that hate watching the reruns, tape it while you do the shopping.
Take time off your morning commute by getting to work an hour early if you can. That extra hour will allow you to beat traffic thus saving you money in gas plus giving you the upper hand in getting some your work done.

Try creating a to do list on your PDA while getting your hair done. Pluck your eyebrows while wasting your gas in the morning traffic. Email conference confirmations while walking from the parking garage to your desk. Surf the status of the stock market on your lunch break rather trying to catch it on tv later that night.

Create a list of everything you do during your day and include the times. Then look over that list and see which tasks you can condense into one. You’ll be surprised what you come up with. Have any good ideas that I forgot to mention, add them to the list.
