Support and Enrichment for The Youth

We as a society are on the verge of losing our children to drugs, violence, and promiscuity. They learn these aspects of life during the times that our presence is absent. Their minds become cluttered with false realities of what life and living is really about. This is especially prominent within the black communities where parents are forced to be absent just to provide a roof and food for their children. It is extremely important that as a society we take our children back under our wing. Teach them that life is about the struggle and how we make our way out. Our children need to know that there is always going to be someone that will try to bring them down. Someone that is going to tell them that their nothing and won’t amount to anything. But it is our job to make sure that they understand that their success will not be measured by where they come from. That their success will be measured by who and what they become.

In the black community, it is important that we surround our children with positive images of other successful black people that they can view as them, as their equal. It is easy to tell a black child that they can become who ever they want. But many black children see that becoming what you want isn’t always an option because they don’t see many people that get out of the “hood”. By surrounding them with successors who are the same color as them, gives them that reassurance that they to can be that dancer or doctor. It shows them they do not have to succumb to the ways of their neighborhood, that they have other options. In the words of Rev Run “Take Back Your Family”.
