Technology Parents

With the economy steady in a recession, if you have a job, its hard to focus on home. Every day our agenda consists of doing everything to keep our jobs or doing everything we can to get a job. What we fail to understand is that our time commitments to our children are being affected. We’re stressed, tired, or aggravated and all those emotions are trickling down the ladder.

Its no secret that technology plays a major role in the home now days. Every room has a television and or radio. Our children have their own computers and we have ours. There is the new nintendo ds, psp, xbox 360, ipods, and all of these things take the place of quality time. Whatever happened to pulling out the scrabble board or dominoes and interacting as a family. What ever happened to dinner together to talk about our day and the struggles we encountered.

Creating family time should not be something that needs a spot on the calendar. It should not be an argument or unpleasant engagement. Technology should not be teaching our children the meaning of life. It should not be teaching our children about the flaws of society or why this family has the glamor but our is filled with struggle. Technology should not be their tutors and their mentors. Technology should not be taking our place as parents
