AN UNRIGHTEOUS LIFE

Fuck you and your blinded society
I’m gonna live my life guided by the almighty
I’m not gay
But who gives a fuck is what they should say
How dare I be judged by a cynical self centered controlling unjustified bastard
Who can’t come close to the accomplishments I’ve mastered

This is my life
And I will overcome my strife
You can’t hold me down
My god broke hells bound
Shit you see me
This is who I be

A queen
Looking for the gold unseen
Caring for my child
Making sure his life’s not wild
Fed him from my breast
Can you do the rest?

No, because I’m his mother
A love no man can muster
Leaving my foot impressions
So when he walks he’ll have suggestions
It’s my blood running through his veins
So he’ll have that strength when it rains

How dare you try to teach me about parenting
Aint that some bullshit we hearing
You didn’t grow up in the slums and the ghetto
Yet your punk ass walks around with a medal
Yelling hoo raaay I’m that fellow
With the platinum credit card going to see Carmelo

The kids in my neighborhood
Walk around reppin I’m so hood
I just don’t understand
because this is no mans land
Fighting and killing
Just to go upstate not to make a living

Does this make any sense?
Sometimes I sit back and reminisce
About the thing that used to matter
When family meant laughter
When praise
Brought hoo rays

But today we live sheltered
Afraid to move unbelted
Afraid to take off those chains
Overall I cannot complain
Because as long as I have a mind I will maintain
So I suggest you no longer refrain

Walk down the street and sing
Let the bells of freedom ring
Be happy
Don’t let your voice exit your body raspy
Teach your child what it means to be free
So when he looks up and sees good he can say mommy I wan that to be me
