Freedom Speaks here at dropmydime.com is dedicated to the liberation of all people. For so long many of us have lived blinded by the ways of society and neglected to enlighten our own well being. Many of us see the failures within our society and choose to look in the opposite direction, well Freedom Speaks will do that no longer.
Education is an important aspect of life in today’s society. It is undermined by our children and neglected by our elected officials. Everyday there are more and more budget cuts in the education sector while our children already have outdated books with wrong and incorrect information. It’s time to reinstill education in the minds of our children and keep their schools open so that they too will one day have the opportunity to succeed.

Boy, 8, Tells Minn. Council: Crack Down On Crooks
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — Eight-year-old Logan Fisher is fed up with crime. And he’s making sure the leaders of his Minnesota city know it.
Logan was ticked because thieves broke into his Brooklyn Park home last month and stole thousands of dollars worth of electronics, not to mention his wallet filled with quarters.
So the soon-to-be fourth-grader climbed a stool and took the podium at this week’s City Council meeting. The Star Tribune reports he wrote out his speech in pencil, then had his mom type it up.
He said, “We need to get mean and we need to mean it.”
Deputy Police Chief Craig Enevoldsen agreed with Logan on neighbors watching out for neighbors and stepped up police patrols. But he said the boy’s idea to put an armored SWAT vehicle on the streets to scare criminals away wasn’t so practical.

Boy Fatally Shoots Toddler Brother By Accident
(AP) Los Angeles police say a 9-year-old boy playing with a loaded gun accidentally shot and killed his 2-year-old brother.
Police said in a statement Saturday that officers and paramedics found the toddler with a bullet wound to the torso after they were called to the boys’ home in the San Fernando Valley.
Police say the 2-year-old died at a hospital Friday night.
The statement says homicide detectives interviewed family members and determined that the gun had gone off while the 9-year-old was playing with it.
Police say no criminal charges are pending.
The name of the 9-year-old was not released because he is a minor, and the name of the 2-year-old is being withheld while family members are properly notified.

James Russell had an idea so big and beautiful, he would talk for a good half-hour, if you let him, about his goal of creating a basketball league run by the homeless to keep teenagers out of trouble.
Homeless himself, living under a bridge in Northeast Washington, Russell said he thought it would symbolize the notion that even those living on the streets had something to contribute. Read More
